things you don’t know about this video: I took me a day and a half to edit and I struggled A LOT. Editing is hard, especially when there’s two people talking. But I LOVED the result. I had to go through some old footage from when Ed and I were living and London and it was a surreal experience. All the people you see on this video are actual friends we have here in Hastings and we’ve met during this year living here. They’re all great and awesome and we love them.

This speed bump is filled with liquid that hardens if you go too fast

A Spanish company has designed a speed bump that won’t hinder slow drivers but will still stop motorists driving too fast.

The speed bump is filled with a non-Newtonian liquid which changes viscosity when pressure is applied at high velocity.

They’ve been installed in Villanueva de Tapia, Spain and there has also been interest from Israel and Germany.

Jimmy Kimmel & Jim Parsons Present the Funniest Words

Researchers in the UK have scientifically identified the funniest word in the English language as booty so we went out to the street to see if people would laugh just by hearing the word. Jimmy doesn’t think that booty is the funniest word, so he compiled a list of the actual funniest words and invited Emmy-award winning actor Jim Parsons to help present them.

The Winning and Losing Nations – Professor Douglas McWilliams

A look at the world in 2020 and, more speculatively, 2050. Which countries are the likely beneficiaries of the changes? We will examine key major economies: China, India, Russia and Brazil, and key regions such as the Middle East and Africa, as well as the prospects for resource based economies, including Canada and Australia. It is a well known economic conclusion that Australia’s success at cricket tends to be negatively correlated with their economic success so we will predict who will be winning the Ashes in future years!

Run Hide Tell: Stay Safe in the event of a terrorist attack abroad

Whilst the chances of being involved in a terror attack remain extremely rare, holidaymakers travelling abroad this summer are being urged to watch a new video designed to help keep them safe in the event of an incident.

With millions of sun-seekers expected to jet off over the coming months, counter terrorism police – in association with the Foreign Office and ABTA The Travel Association – have launched a new four minute film outlining what to do if caught up in an attack.

There is no specific intelligence that British holidaymakers will be targeted this summer but the launch of the film and supporting information is part of a general campaign to raise awareness among the public. It highlights the steps people can take to minimise the impact of an attack – including knowing the local emergency services number.

This innovative new approach encourages everyone to be prepared should the worst happen.

The central message is Run, Hide, Tell and was first launched by UK police in December 2015 after attacks in Paris. It was recently re-issued to the public by officers during London’s Borough Market incident.
